| Description | The Long Haul Trucker enjoys a reputation as one of the best riding and most value-packed touring bikes out there. It has been around long enough to be tested in the real world, in all kinds of places, with all kinds of loads on all kinds of roads. Sometimes, however, a combination of load, climate and terrain demands a bit more braking performance than a standard rim-brake LHT can provide. That is where the Disc Trucker comes in. Disc Trucker is a Long Haul Trucker specifically designed for the unique forces discs impose. It can run discs, racks, and mudguards with no jury rigging, a somewhat unique feature Surly call Simulpatibility. From the casual commuter to the person who rides around the world more than once, the Disc Trucker is more than capable. It is a tool designed from the ground up to take you and a bunch of stuff just about anywhere. It is a tool to help you get lost and find yourself. Made from 100% 4130 CroMoly Steel with a double butted main triangle. Rear dropouts are spaced for 135mm OLN. 51mm I.S. caliper mounts Has bosses and eyelets for racks front and rear, chainstay spare spoke holder, pump peg, downtube lever bosses, 3 sets of bottle cage bosses and all stops for brake and derailleur cables. Seatpost diameter is 27.2mm, with an included 30mm seatpost clamp. Headtube is designed to be used with a 1 1/8 threadless headset. Will fit 26 x 2.1" or 700 x 42mm tire with room for mudguards. Price includes frame and forks. The frame's headtube and BB shell will be faced. Headset not included (Recommended headset: FSA Orbit Equipe). The headset will be fitted if purchased with the frameset. |
